Aqd means a knot, tied so it holds.
- 1A knot. Something tied fast, so it doesn’t come loose.
- 2The nikah. In Urdu, aqd-e-nikah is the nikah itself: the promise, made in front of family, that ties two people and two families together.
Every shaadi gathers around that knot. The mehndi, the baraat and the walima all lead to it or celebrate it, and the invitation is the first time your guests feel it coming. That’s what we make: the first thread, tied with care.
A wedding card used to be held in two hands. Now it arrives on WhatsApp, so we made it worth opening.
Most invitations sent on WhatsApp are a picture or a PDF. Guests zoom in to find the date, scroll back up the chat for the venue, and someone always asks what time the mehndi starts.
So we build each invitation as a small website. It opens like a door, plays its music, lists every event with directions, counts down to the day and collects replies, all from one link.
In your own words: who you are, where you’re based, and what made you start Aqd Invites.
Four things every invitation is held to.
- 01
One world, not a template
Each design is a single place, with its own light, materials and music, carried through all eight sections.
- 02
Made for the phone in their hand
Every section is designed for phones and for iPads, upright and sideways, because that’s where your guests will open it.
- 03
Eight moments, in order
The doors open, the hall, a letter to your guests, both families, the events, a countdown, the reply, and a goodbye.
- 04
Built for families
Each guest gets a link that shows only their events, and every reply lands in a sheet you can see.
